Overview

Sedna is cloud accounting software for investors. This policy explains what information we collect when you use usesedna.com, why we collect it, and who we share it with. We do not sell your personal information.

Information We Collect

The information we have depends on how you use Sedna:

  • Account details: name, email address, password or passkey, and optional profile photo. You can also sign in with Google.
  • Business and books: entity details, chart of accounts, journal entries, reports, owner equity records, schedules, and related notes you enter.
  • Files you upload: documents, receipts, and similar attachments stored so you can use them in the product. Receipt images may be processed automatically to suggest amounts and details you can confirm.
  • Team and invitations: names and email addresses of people you invite to a business.
  • Billing: if you subscribe, our payment processor collects card or other payment details. We keep subscription status and related billing records, not your full card number.
  • Messages you send us: contact-form and in-app feedback, including screenshots you attach.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and how you use the site (pages, errors, and similar logs). Sign-in tokens are stored in your browser so you stay logged in.

Public calculators and guides do not require an account. Those pages still collect the usual technical data from your visit.

How We Use It

We use this information to:

  • Provide the service: accounts, bookkeeping, reports, files, and team access
  • Process subscriptions and send account, security, and product emails
  • Keep the platform secure and diagnose problems
  • Respond to support and feedback
  • Meet legal and accounting-record obligations

Integrations and AI access

If you connect Google Sheets, we exchange the data needed to export or sync the books you choose. If you connect an AI assistant through our MCP server, that assistant can access accounting data you authorize for that session. Disconnect an integration or revoke access when you no longer want it.

Who We Share With

We share information with companies that help us run Sedna, and only as needed for that work:

  • Hosting and storage for the application and your files
  • Google, for Sign in with Google and Google Sheets (when you use those)
  • Stripe, for paid subscriptions
  • Email delivery for verification, invitations, and support
  • Error monitoring so we can find and fix crashes
  • Receipt processing, when you upload a receipt

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect Sedna or our users, or with your direction. People you invite to a business can see that business's books according to the role you give them.

Retention

We keep account and bookkeeping data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, including any deletion grace period we offer, so we can restore access or meet record-keeping rules. You can export your data from the product. To request deletion, email us at the address below.

Your Choices

You can:

  • Review and update your profile and business information in the app
  • Export your data
  • Ask us to correct or delete personal information we hold
  • Disconnect Google or other integrations you connected

We are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
